Foreboding

by Skyfire   Jun 16, 2010

Red, blue, black--
cars streak by,
gleaming in the crisp light.
The only noise
is the roaring of the asphalt
beneath spinning wheels.
Mountains slope towards the road
like great clawing fingers,
brown torrents of earth
rushing headlong in an
attempt to swallow the
snaking road.
Blue sky shines overhead,
deep and dangerous
like thin ice.
