The Promise Of Tomorrow

by Viperness101   Jun 19, 2010

When I'm left alone in the open air,
Abandoned forever in this place.
His thoughts echoing over the square
I'm still wishing to see his face.

Waking to the smile on his lips,
Sensing the caress of his hands.
That feeling will be sorely missed,
Left alone to walk these sands.

The joy I felt when he came into sight,
As he walked towards me out of the rain.
Pushed into darkness away from the light,
Thinking now, how I dare not complain.

Left out to sleep alone on the street,
A helping hand came to me out of the dark.
How likely that anyone would be so sweet?
A promise was formed by hands held in a park.

A meeting arranged to see each other,
I now live in the promise of tomorrow.
Both turned up, anxious to see one another,
Leaving a peaceful sleep free from sorrow
