Poisonous Kiss

Once upon a time...
one girl raised her fist
started to scream realities
& it went like this:
happily ever after is a lie.
because...
because glass slippers break
& tiaras rust
pumpkin carriages rot
& glitter turns to dust.
because prince charmings
aren't always what they seem
& night terrors invade
even the sweetest of dreams.
because cyanide is embedded
in princess lips
& no one wakes up
from a poison kiss.

    Fairytales are as they are...fairytales. There is never a solid ground of happiness. Nothing in life ever lasts. I really enjoyed this poem.
