Found It True

by Amanda Ghosties   Jul 6, 2010

She carries herself, so gracefully
Long waves flow through her hair
Smile painted across her face
Her loved ones, unaware

She acts && laughs, like nothing hurts
Her eyes decorated, to hide
All the pain shot through her heart
The moment, she found he'd lied

She wanted so badly, to take him back
Open arms, trust full && new
But, despite the love she held for him
She found again, his words untrue

But, like a fool she hid her pain
&& Held onto this love, that killed
They'd laugh && talk, but when he left
That's when her eyes would fill

She thought, perhaps, that for the best
They were just not meant to be
&& In an instant, it was over
She was left alone, to clean the debris

Another boy, had taken his place
Beside her, but not in her heart
&& Though, she knows it will bring her down
There's just no more of her, to fall apart

This girl now sits here, confessing all
The things she just cannot say
Because, yet again, she's found it true
That love is but a cliche
