Silence creeps in

by Elyse H.   Jul 18, 2010

Silence creeps in
The pain surges through my body like a knife
Piercing my heart and stinging my soul
The loneliness captures me

Playing me like a pawn in its evil game
Love has sucked me into its deceitful web
Taunting me with what I cannot have
It teases me into struggle

I hear the echoing of his voice
In the tranquil retreat of a tired ocean wave
Who once was lively, once was free
Once jumped in liberation against her mainstay

As if to let the world know she was happy
I call out to love
No answer still
The ocean remains silent
