A Glass Box

by Nobody   Jul 24, 2010

I'm here, right here
standing next to you.
Aren't I?

I want to reach out
to touch that part of your soul
so hidden, you've almost forgotton
it's existance...

I want to show you,
That you aren't the only one
staggering on this thin line,
this path we call life.

But no matter how hard I try
I can't, my limbs hang heavy at my sides
My feet sinking deep inside the ground
Freezing me in time

I long to shout, scream, cry
out of frustration, amusement, and joy
I open my mouth, trying to will my voice
to say something, anything!

I can't, no matter how hard I wish
I locked myself tighly away
in my glass box, safe and sound
a place where nothing can touch me.
