Caught in Place

by Syrus   Aug 1, 2010

Oh rapturous night,
Veil of my heart and soul,
Why do you keep me here
Trapped in your starry trance?

There is a man on the moon laughing at me,
Watching me struggle,
Waiting to see if I can free myself,
To start living these dying dreams.

I whisper them in the darkness
But he hears every breath,
Watches my vigor fade
With the growing light.

I have spent too long in this place,
Dreams nailed to walls like pictures
Thought of only in passing,
Fading in the pallid of reality and time...
