Journey To Nowhere.

by Naila   Aug 4, 2010

Isn't it much easier to walk on the path of darkness,
Because then you can't see the thorns.
Just keep on walking
With your head bent.
Sleepwalk through all the storms.
Just keep on marching
To the same tune.
Step-with-step,in line with the norms.
And then, when I reach the shore,
I will have the privilege of seeing
The warrior of light leave.
And I can stand there, and wave to him.
Watch him embark on the quest for truth.
And I won't attempt to follow.
I will just turn around
And go back to the comfort of my space.
The drums might ring hollow.
The journey might call me.
But I will have to resist the temptation.
For the sake of my weakness.
For the security of dying in a familiar place.

Your poem makes one think deep...........how a familiar situation can bring a kind of security that may cause reluctance to change/ choose a different path or try something new . Interesting write
