Perfect Image...

Lets create a perfect image,
mark the places you wish to change,
slowly cut out on the dotted lines,
and tell me,
how much more is left to stay?

Lets create a perfect image,
take a picture of yourself unchained,
wipe away the mask you wear and let me see your hidden face,

Lets create a perfect image,
based off false creams and Hollywood dreams,
flip through your high-end fashion magazines and tell me...
is that the perfection you wish to be?

Lets create a perfect image,
look in the mirror and finally see,
and tell yourself that perfection is not a word,
but another false reality...

Lets create a perfect image,
open up your eyes and see,
tell yourself that your beautiful,
let yourself be free.

Lets create a perfect image.

    Thank you!....im glad i was able to unearth ur poem.haha. I completely agree. Perfection doesnt exisit in my mind....it will kill you first before anything else.

    This is beautiful. Reminds me of the first poem I ever wrote which you've now inspired me to try to unearth on my computer about the whole concept of perfection. Very well done. It's such an unreal standard but it gets thrown around so much and the bar is set at disturbing levels. I'm glad you're one of the people who realize the bigger picture. Good job
