Battles

by haunted   Oct 13, 2010

Leaves fall off trees as the future becomes the present,
Suddenly time means nothing when we're there,
Bells of laughter ring your ears, your limbs go soft.
Yet you hold onto nothing, trying to keep yourself from falling.

No one ever said we'd get this close,
Time only ran its course, but now we're 'best friends'.
Secrets are poured out, tears are gushed down.
Yet you hold onto nothing, trying to keep yourself from falling.

Lying to him only to save both of you,
Who knew he'd see right through you?
Seeing each other everyday brings that smile to your face,
Yet you hold onto nothing, trying to keep yourself from falling.

Daydreams fill your head as your heart pumps faster,
Your eyes glazed over, you're breathing deep.
Longing reaches your fingers; you need to touch to feel them there.
Yet you hold onto nothing, trying to keep yourself from falling.

Scars are licked away by the love,
By the arms that hold me when
I completely lose control.
Yet you hold onto nothing, trying to keep yourself from falling.
