Why Didn't You?

by haunted   Jan 29, 2010

I fall to my knees, Tears
gushing down my cheeks.
I begged someone -- you -- to save me So
why didn't you?

You broke a large piece of my trust, Merely
throwing it aside, as if it were Nothing
that valuable, but you could've held it So
why didn't you?

My wounds were concealed from everyone I
had ever trusted; with no intention of being Fixed
at all. Laid out for your blind, selfish eyes to finally see So
why didn't you?

You are fooled by the mask I glued onto My
face, pretending to be okay when I really want to cry.
Four years -- maybe just one more. I hoped you would care So
why didn't you?

I'm tired of crying every night Before
I fall asleep, of all the lies I've told To
convince you I wasn't hopeless. You could've stopped it a long time ago So
why didn't you?

I like the concept and the idea but it seems a little choppy and doesn't seem to flow as well as I think it potentially could.
