I Loved You

by Lesslovedthanloathed   Nov 10, 2010

The place where my heart should be aches,
Embedded into my soul our mistakes.
We lost the right to love long ago
When we desperately vowed to outgrow
All the feelings we tried to hide,
Yet the tears I cried never dried.
I loved you more than anything,
When you left I felt the sting.
The love I tried so hard to deny
I wanted to be the one to say good bye
In the end neither you or I
Were brave enough not to lie
I knew it then, this love would end
And that was the last of our love-pretend.
