Look Into Their Eyes and See What They Know

by Jessie   Nov 17, 2010

I see with my eyes, I feel with my skin
I smell with my nose, and hear voices within
But as for the blind man with his eyes so blank
what can he see? who can he thank?

He sees what he knows, and he knows more than I
he knows red, and green, when he thinks of the sky
He knows about beauty, more than we'll ever see
he knows about joy, much more so than me

He knows of a land that's vast and wide,
and he knows the feeling of total pride,
he knows of a place where we've never been
he sees the glory of a place we've never seen.

It can only be seen through those eyes of his
where the objects and faces are imaginative
where the sounds and smells reveal whats real
and for what he can't see, he can taste and feel

He knows wisdom, through the eyes he owns
because for the blind man, he seeks the unknown
He seeks beyond, with every breath he breathes
what would I give, to know what he sees
