Life as a Toy

by Jessie   Nov 23, 2010

The darkness has come once again
we fear for the worst this time
collaborating, its decided
the light shines no more

day five, still dark
losing hope
sobs have stopped
all is quiet

day ten, hope has fallen
batteries are dying
good men have been lost
we hold onto prayer

day twelve, almost all have given up
we are only junk
to be sold like candy
at the next garage sale

but wait! I see a light
murmurs begin
hopes lifting
its him!

Our boy! Who shall he choose
he's picked me,
oh the joy
the happiness

to be held again, sorrows cease
life is complete
I just hope to never
see the toy box again
