The last luggage

by Janet   Nov 26, 2010

Be like a child
- in thought and in action.
I am here to guide you;
To love and to be your fortress.
Trust in me and depend on me,
Cry like a baby, if you will
And i will love you still
- I am your mother.
I know your very strengths and weaknesses.

"Don't talk to strangers!", "Mummy loves you",
and, "Listen to your teacher, honey".
This is how you will remember me one day,
While you shed a tear and smile.

No longer are you a baby;
Before my eyes and in my heart you have grown.

Now my child, this you shall take as my last advice;
Spread your wings and prepare to fly,
For you are no longer a baby.
Fly like an eagle and keep your balance.
Don't put these memories in your bags, but store them somewhere safer
-you may need them again tomorrow.

When lightning strikes you in the leg
Stand up and be bold - use the other.
Don't look back to me anymore;
Keep walking, for I too, am weak in the letting go.

So follow the light that guides you now,
But don't you rush now!
Tomorrow, you shall take the journey without me.
