Waiting on 2 words

by Chelsey   Nov 28, 2010

They're fighting again, seems like just yesterday
They were on the phone for hours with so much to say
No one understands her heart and why she loves him so
She said it's none of their business, its for her to know

For the 8th time in 3 years, shes waiting on 2 words
She cries knowing it's something she's already heard
He puts his hand on the door knob, sadly looks at her
"I still love you, I never meant for you to hurt"

She puts her head on the steering wheel; sobbing hard
Why is it he so easily breaks her heart?
She waits for the 2 words as she tries pulling him closer
"We're just not meant to be" He says. "It's over"

Her mascara ran for the millionth time that night
Just like that he walked away, completely out of sight
Her car holds her screams, her cries, her melt downs
Life just seems so much harder when hes not around

2 months later, this couldn't be true
She checks her calendar to see when shes due
3 weeks late, a quick run to the store
This is what they make early pregnancy tests for

Sitting on the toilet, waiting for 2 words to appear
3 longest minutes of her life, she's completely in fear
"Not Pregnant" it said, she broke down and cried
Is it weird she wanted to have a baby in her life?

She wanted to get him back and that'd be the way
To tell him he'd be the father, what would she even say?
Now she's trying to erase the thought, she hears 2 words
"Move on." No matter how bad it hurts

She goes through her room, gathering memories of them
Maybe she would never talk to him again
Throws away his pictures, she again starts to cry
She's waiting on 2 words, she says it, "Good bye"

* this is for those people who have been in on again off again relationships...its hard, but sometimes its best to move on*
