In The Middle

by running out of lies   Dec 5, 2010

She never said yes, so she never lied to you
She never said no, so she never told the truth
You say her life is insane, so you just expect her to leave it behind
This change is insane, and you know it in the back of your mind

She never let go, so she didn't hurt anyone
She never held on, so now she's about to run
You showed her a side of herself that she's never seen before
A side that she will never accept as a part of her

She was never weak, so how can you change her now?
She was never strong, so how could you let her down?
You never cared enough to understand her wishes and needs
You couldn't bear to accept she couldn't go to extremes

Thank you for your constructive criticism, I really get your point, but...I'm not a native English speaker, I'm just a 13-year-old Romanian singer/songwriter. I really appreciate the fact you weren't mean to me even though my poems aren't your favorites. Also, thanks for taking the time to read & comment.

And about that part, I'm sorry if it's not good, but I think I'm gonna keep it that way. It's very personal to me. It's about someone that did his best to change me (for the worse), and I kinda turned myself into him involuntarily, lost all of my friends because of that, but didn't see - or didn't want to see - anything wrong with that. I slowly lost myself bit by bit so someone that didn't deserve it. He did horrible things to me - things I wrote about but I don't think I can find the power to publish THOSE poems & songs. Long story short, I would've never accepted what I've done and where I've been as being me - that's the past. but it all started with him trying to change me.
