Stand In The Rain

by running out of lies   Dec 17, 2010

The rain is pouring on the roof of this empty building
As a little girl enters the missing door
She came to say sorry, thinking he's right there listening
But at the same time hoping he's not anymore
The echo of her footsteps is all she's hearing
And that makes her a little calmer than before

She doesn't know he's just upstairs, he's only ears and
He stays quiet just to find out what she has to say
So close, but like always, too far away for touching
She's ashamed of what might follow, but to him it's OK
Humiliating, she thinks in the back of her mind but
She would do anything to have him just one more day
