On the Road to Damascus

by Ronald Edwards   Dec 9, 2010

Letters in hand
riding the path.
To seek those out
and show his wrath.
High Priest demands!
My God commands!
Death to all His prophets.

A liturgical year,
and oh so clear,
till that day
He did appear,
You persecute
what I revere,
trying to kill My prophets.

Ive heard the call
from prisons hall.
My faithful beat
by him named Saul.
In chains you bind
making them crawl.
No mercy for My prophets

To treat them such
you treat Me too,
But no more will
I let you do.
This mission ends
and so shall you.
Redemption for My prophets.

Your sight I take
you will not see,
because these things
youve done to Me.
Believe and I
will set you free.
Three days you'll be My prophet.

In slow return
he did go back.
A man with faith
never to lack.
No longer Saul,
now he was Paul
The zealous Hebrew prophet.

Poetry teaching in a way that is enjoyable. If I had to pick a favorite of your poems, I'm afraid I would be at a loss. I hope you continue writing , you inspire me and give me reason to think
