Escaping

by misa   Dec 14, 2010

The life that you're going through
you cry, your scream
but yourself you must stay true

Walls of anger surround your mind
you fight, you pound
but all this rage will only make you blind

A life filled with stillness is what you crave
you pray, you hope
but the harmful past has made you its slave

As the wind comes to carry your sadness away
you welcome it, you feel it
and it sighs, "From yourself, do not stray."

You begin to break free of your chain
you run, you escape
and tears of ache pour down like rain

Beyond the skies your wings take you
you smile, you laugh
and you know you've finally made it through
