Fallen

by TerraLeigh   Dec 20, 2010

This fallen angel has risen, to face another day.
her broken bones are healing, her bruises fade away.
she looks up to heaven, she doesn't understand.
how after so much torment, someone came to hold her hand.

she still feels less than perfect, even to this day.
cant see what she had done, to be treated in that way.
and tho the bones have mended, and the bruises are all gone. theres still this lurking shadow, saying hes still not gone.

some where in these busy streets, he searches for her still. creeping every corner, climbing every hill. this fallen angles rising, he doesn't like the thought. he would take every second to make this angel rot.

but this angel had a secret. of which he doesn't know.
although she doesn't understand; it helped the angel know. that even in the cruelest world where all she found was hate. there was someone waiting for her. to shield her from her fate.

but now the shield has chipped, and it bares a rusty crack. it caused the rising angel to fall right on her back.
the heavens have stopped calling, they'll never let her home. this fallen angels broken.and shell always be alone.

This hurt was the worst of all, not something she could mend. the person who came to save her world, had been the cause of the end.

The atmosphere and choice of words really came through in this poem, especially the rhyming couplets. Usually the poet would write out each line separately, but you've written some parts out in prose and it's different, and gives a really good effect in my opinion.

The angel and the shield part is really touching too, and full of emotion. 5/5, I hope you write more :)
