Darkness

by TerraLeigh   Dec 30, 2010

Dark slumbers devour my mind with twisted thoughts and fears.
Slowly crawling; encasing my body into its black inky web.
Wrapped in this cocoon I lost sight of you, and my mind began to scream.
Left in this twisted world of my dream, alone again.

I search, I call, I climb, I fall.

I'm trapped without you near.
The only one in this world to chase away my fears.
The shadow lands call to me, laughing in my ear.
They want me and will not stop until they have me there.
The dark vines entangle me with their thorny razor spikes.
They pull me into the mud, and take what they like.

I scream, I cry, I fight, I fail.

The blood in the mud tells you I was there. You look to the ground and see the claw-like marks.
I was dragged away to the darkest of the dark.
The musty smell around you, the cold frigid air, a shudder down your back .
You know but can not bear.

You search, you call, you climb, you see.

Somewhere in the darkness you will find me.
