Like the cry within me

by Mr Rhee   Jan 14, 2011

The cold air around me
slows my heart,
and brings me to calm.
I can dream again,
and make wishes.

The water in the stream
is fresh and clean.
It quells my thirst,
fills me with a freshness
I haven't felt in so long now.

The wind above me,
pulling on the trees,
brings a music to my soul.
An old melody from before
flows through me.

The snow is new,
and shines bright,
as though with it's own light.
Like small diamonds,
laying as unfound gifts.

The sky above my head
is so clear to my eyes.
All I see is blue,
and blue, and blue.
Surely, a new horizon.

I drop my cloak in the snow,
and toss my knife
into the cold water.
My boots are thrown
behind the old rocks.

This world fills me
with something so new.
This world compels me
to never go back.
This is better than war.

I spread my arms wide,
and inhale deeply.
Tears begin to flow,
like the cry within me.
Waiting to come out.

Please! Please, let me stay?
I can be clean, and new!
I beg you, I beg you!
Hear my cries,
feel my soul!

I want this world.
This world I've tasted here.
I will not look back,
nor will I go back,
to the anger and the hate!

I beg what God there is,
so that he grants me my peace.
No more killing,
and no more evil things.
I am yours, and yours, and yours.

I wipe my tears away.
And I see... I see....
All that all is bright,
and all that is clean.
And it feels...good.

It must be good to have a good cry and let it all out, also to be in a world where everything is clean and has fresh air to breathe. I like it.
