Star gazing through separation

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 22, 2011

I can't seem to settle for familiar,
because I always end up sitting
beneath sparkling showers of
a stage's most whimsical play.

You capture the musky air
and breathe words of meaning,
lyrics that foster a brisk soul.

Suddenly, as if my thoughts guide,
there is no one to greet or masks
to comment on, there is simplicity;
and for the first time, I don't look
toward the spotlight, I just sing.

In that melody I reach the harmony
writing some new kind of love
where beauty wakes to find your
face of signification.

And there, one lagato note
binds our fingers breathlessly;
I am a single wing fluttering,
you are a light from heaven's table.

I cannot let this night slip
without telling you the sight of you
already writes our history,
and you know we can't let this stop.

    How lovely, I have never heard of this song by him but it sounds like it is a beautiful one. I really think your title is too long but then again I like it as it sums up the meaning here, a lot of people like to star gaze when they miss the one they love, they hope they see the same one and thus are brought together. I love how you used singing here and saying you were binded together with each note, I believe that's what you said, that was adorable.
