Hypocrisy

by Nobody   Jan 31, 2011

At every corner it's there
its silhouette out lining every turn
I can sometimes feel it
letting out shallow breaths
down my neck.

It stalks my shadow
and lurks in my thoughts
always hot on my trail
its face never eludes me
I am constantly haunted
by its gruesome features.

Years of war
evading and eluding
has led us to this final battle ground
glass shards shower around me,
sprinkling my body
with translucent diamond crystals.

Surrounded by this massacre
admist this utter destruction
a tiny voice breaks the silence
draining my satisfied victory
whispering slowly,

"The monster is me..."
