Powerless

by what living does   Feb 21, 2011

What power I do have,

I would willingly cast aside,

If at least to at the end,

To my heart abide.

Oh lights aloft in the distant sky,

How I shall miss you ember blow,

I shall hold these memories close to me,

When I fade to deep below.

The pains of losing those held near,

Create the deepest scar,

Of the remains of what was,

Is if anything... charred.

I shall slumber in the darkness of my own heart,

Until the lights are lit,

The ways shall fade to shadow,

Respite shall heed no pause.

Ive lost the path to light,

Its nature known to few,

I shall never find its warmth again,

Obscured by the hopes I slew.

The balance has been upset,

Good will been cast aside,

It was only at the ending,

That to my heart I did abide.
