Left Behind

Left Behind

Where has thy light,

So clear and pure,

taken refuge in this darkened world.

Why have you left us,

To wander and struggle, for ages unending

For we wait for you,

To bring us to the lands of light,

Where mortal skins we shed,

Like leaves of the tree in winter.

To join with you and thus take flight.

In skies untouched by humans hand,

It is there that we dream of,

This place so far, and yet uncorrupted by time and hands unclean.

Allow us to wash our hands of the blood of those whom we have left behind,

When we are clean may we come with you?

To that land of purity?

We, those left behind, shall rekindle that lost light

And when we do we shall join you beyond the edge?
