Can you hear them calling?

Calling your name,

travelling through time-

through space.

Calling for your soul,

your memories-

and your happiness.

Can you hear them coming?

Coming to get you.

Hear the foot steps,

as they approach-

and reach inside the hole in your heart.

Tearing apart,

everything of nothing.

Can you hear them laugh?

Laughing at your pain,

and your misery.

Chuckling as they walk,

walk back into the darkness.

Can you see the shadows?

The shadows that follow you,

following you everywhere you go.

Every step you take,

every breath.

Can you feel the emptiness?

The emptiness that follows,

after the sunshine disappears.

After you lose everything.

The emptiness,

that emptiness-

right before you give up,

your heart,

your dreams,

your memories,

and your life.
