You and I

by Miss Lonely Teacher   Apr 18, 2011

Standing on the line I've drawn
between my weak heart and your strong
looking out over the side
of this roller coaster ride
no i see the truth therein
of how you always seemed to win

you knew the steps
each twist and turn
you've seen before
how anger burned;
how sad hearts cry;
and wingless beings
tried to fly;
hot hate consumes,
and we've built our tombs.

I know you've seen them
these scars i hide
and all the letters saying
"I wish I'd died"

it only means I now know too
exactly why you do everything you do.
the pity; the guilt
the things you're hiding are showing through
