A Raindrop's Song

by Jaymi Lynn   Apr 21, 2011

Raindrops throw themselves against my window
Streaming down in never ending rivers of envy,
They wish to hang on to the transparent glass
But down they slip to the pavement below me.

It is there duty to perish
And my destiny to live,
Like clock work in an office
The cycle begins.

They lose grip on a cloud
They drop from the sky,
A free falling nightmare
One last thrill before they die.

Their life is in the clouds,
Their spirit belongs to tides,
Staying true to the element of water
Is where their loyalty lies.

Conjuring pity from their pores
And envy from their throats
Raindrops fall from the sky
Singing sorrowful notes.

It's hot in here, and I already feel the raindrops tapping on my windowpane.
This is damp, this write, in an amazing wway. :)
