My Heart is Given

by Larry Chamberlin   Apr 26, 2011

If I give to you my heart
sew pockets hidden from sight
for secret missives on your part
when I get it back each night.

If you accept what I've begun
our love's within your control
flourishing under your sun
hostage it in your warm soul.

When our spirits entangle and cling
weave a purse from this twine
tie up our hearts draw the strings
seal our vows our lives combine

Awww... I love this poem! I love the metaphors and imagery you've created by giving your heart to someone, and the idea of both hearts being intertwined... beautiful words.
    Great job!

Short and simple, but also very sweet. Love poems don't have to be extravagant to get the feeling of love across to the reader, they just have to be real. Excellent job I really enjoy love poems, especially when the author has the abilty to rhyme! Great work 5/5

Short but so full of love that honey drips from each word. I loved it , what a wonderful feeling that flows through the reader, and a smile creeps unknowingly across their face
