Janis who?

by Larry Chamberlin   Sep 10, 2023

There was a fellow I knew
or thought I did, you never . . .
we’ll, let’s say he hung out
and started an endeavor.

Disappeared, left a note
I’ll be gone a month or two,
now it’s been four years.
Funny how the time grew.

He pays the rent I guess;
collects the eggs to sell
comes sneaking in at times
but doesn’t ring the bell.

Many projects left undone;
one flaps like loose sheets
left in clubhouse walls
where no one ever meets.

Plagiarism runs around
like graffiti in the alley
with mod tools busted
waiting for grand finale.

    Ah, Larry, this made me smile. We've been asking for so long where Janis is... he seems like almost a myth now! Makes me even more grateful for those who come back to this site or those who've stuck around. It makes it even more of a cherished place :)
