Goodbye My Little Flower

by Dominique Lewis   Apr 28, 2011

You use to be full of life and spirit,
You were such a beautiful rose,
You use to be so small and yet you bloomed into something wonderful.

I remember when you and your little petals use to play in the water,
I remember when your petals started floating away from me,
And I just wanted to know why you had to change so fast?

You were such a small thing and I was terrified to touch you cause you were so fragile,
You use to wave back and forth in the wind as if you were dancing,
You were my precious little rose.

That is why on the day you left I cried,
I cried and cried wandering why did you have to go away,
But now I know that eventually I was going to have to let you go.

So I stare up to the stars and watch your petals dance in the spring breeze,
And I just start singing that lullaby we use to sing,

'Soon you'll be flying away on a breeze and I just say good night my little flower. Soon you'll be back home with me. Once upon a dear dream. Goodnight my little Rose!"

So there you go into the sky and I say soon you'll be back home with me.

Goodbye my precious little flower!
