Lonesome soul

by Yakari Gabriel   Apr 30, 2011

It takes nothing but a look
through these coffee brown eyes
to see that they've seen far more
than just seventeen years.

this spirit of mine,
that walks on eggshells
upon a crooked path

carrying disappointments
like a mother would carry
her child on her back..
getting weaker with every step
yet stronger with every thought..

This is yet another poem that shows such strength and maturity. Beautifully written!

Such a strong opening stanza that leaves room for so much. It really rings the thought of growing up too fast, knowing too much.

Love the imagery in stanza 2!

    "getting weaker with every step
yet stronger with every thought.. "

Amazing! I love the way this was penned. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
