Teardrops

by Princess Victory   May 4, 2011

I know I made a fool of myself
And woe is he that listens.
I placed my feelings on a shelf,
And as the moonlight glistens,
I thought no more of love or hate;
They left with the salt in my tears.
Instead of searching for a lifelong mate,
My heart was filled with fears.
I did not want to be alone,
Of this I was absolutely sure.
But I did feel that until I was shown,
A love so wonderful and pure,
I would never give my heart away,
Until I found the One.
I know he will come someday,
At this I will not shun,
But for now I am content to know,
That God is always here.
And as I daily face a foe,
I shall no longer fear.
