Lights fall out

by Hanako   May 22, 2011

Took my hands
spun me around
sunlight spilled
onto the grass in patches
You laughed and the sound broke
came to rest in tiny lights
sparkling in my green eyes
The light in your own dark eyes
blinded me so I could not see
the moment the shadows stole our faces
I felt your hands grow cold
as you dropped my own
your edges blurred
and your image
spun through my mind
I reached for you
but I reached for air
all that is left is the mist
on my face that is you
your image still shimmering.
You laugh again
but this time it breaks
into a thousand tiny daggers
that fly straight to my soul
as you drip down my face
and y our lights fall out
of my green eyes
