Summer's Kiss

by Meagan Adelle   May 23, 2011

Do you feel that?
That pounding in your heart
This is what it feels like when you're alive
My summer nights used to consist of waiting for days
Now it's just the other way

And it's like coffee at midnight
Everything is wrong but it's alright
We're kids and we've been waiting for this
It's just the intoxication of summer's kiss.

Still not in bed and it's a quarter to four
There's nowhere to sleep anyway but there on the floor
And at this age, sleep is overrated
Tonight's our chance let's take it

We got too wild and went a bit too far
We use life to get us high enough to jump off cliffs in our hearts
This chance won't show it's face again
Get a running start and dive right in

And it's like coffee at midnight
Everything is wrong but it's alright
We're kids and we've been waiting for this
It's just the intoxication of summer's kiss.
