That Summer

by Megan   May 27, 2011

I loved him that summer
More than I've ever
Loved anyone else.

I was his baby,
And he was my guy,
We'd lay on the roof of his car
As we'd watch the night sky
Rolling by.

He said your eyes they shine bright as the stars
Way up high.

A hug around the neck
And a kiss on the forehead;
I'd give you all of the things you love best.
Run my fingers through your hair,
Open my eyes and stare.

We'd make a love only made by lovers in fairy tales.
I'd be yours forever,
I promise you I'd never
Forget all these moments, I swear.

In the back of my mind and the pit of my heart
You'll be there.
