Through the motions

by brittany   Jun 2, 2011

Running is a quick action to get away from an issue
Its a fast movement going forwards
The word spills from your mouth effortlessly like you're sure of what you've been doing
But these problems are here and piling
They aren't getting further like things do when you run
Hiding is a slow movement
The problem searches your sole and I can see it finding you inside
It burns in your flesh every minute as you fake your perfect crystal smile
You melt, you look happy, but you lie
I can see it, every cut every burn, any scar
They cover you behind hidden spaces that you cover so well
But your eyes say everything
I see your tears at night
And now your protecting
Not solving or avoiding
Not running or hiding
Protecting their mistakes
And accepting them as your own
