There Among Darkness.

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 25, 2011

We can never know what will hunt us tonight.
Whether fear itself is toying with vulnerable heartstrings,
or a darker shadow that pulls itself over our restraint.
Yet when you live in my world, no matter the miles apart,
I feel your light shine upon the empty holes that face me.
When I am hauled around by worrying I have failed,
you break through depression to set the walls,
giving rise to a garden between us, deep like your love.
Though I continue to let myself be drugged by evil,
you always come back, standing up for me,
holding out a firm hand that won't waver.
I will be carried by you and with great pride,
I realize you have always been here for me,
my one lasting angel, how I have been blessed.
