Magnificent Chaos.

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 28, 2011

I had always embraced solitude as personal meditation,
a path for me to tread upon slowly but diligently.
Yet, when the forest fire set my heart in a daze,
there was no calm peace to bring me a plan.
Amid seething weather and wild skies,
you nested a silhouette of living light.
Giving me courage to stand,
even though wind pressed against my throat
choking and terrifying my spirit,
you named an eternal sun that wouldn't fall.
Nothing prepared me for the miracle of warmth,
and nothing, except you, patched my burning sensation,
turning the world around to find canopies and fields
made of Heaven-sent guardians.
We've embarked on a mission to restore beauty
and bury darkness in the tombs of time.
