Smile or Frown

She can crack a joke,
My joker of a friend.
I can always laugh,
Like I have no cares.
Even when there's trouble.

Only she has heard my fears,
Reality is she probably has them too.

For once I had hope,
Recently she destroyed it.
Once I may have smiled,
When she was next to me.
Now I'm so alone.

And I don't know what to do,
smile or frown.
