Beast within

by Nil   Jul 3, 2011

An animal whimpers deep in my chest
Surrounded by muscular walls
And fortified by a cage of bones
Whimpering so dejectedly
Like a stray without a home
Trapped, with no where to go

Questions tormenting the animal
Make the beast recoil
Desperately trying to disappear
Only to fail so miserably,
Bound to a sad person
Who can't seem to grow a back bone

This creature surviving barely,
Needing to breathe
Only to lose its breath whenever
It tries to scream
Sometimes gritting your teeth just isn't enough
And sometimes...
A stray needs some help
Sometimes..
Even I need love.
