Figure in the Dark

by ForevertheFallen   Jul 4, 2011

Across the street, the little boy walked
Searching for something that was once lost
Quickly he looked to find his missing treasure
The only thing he needed forever and ever

Up and down the little boy checked
Hoping for it to call to him
In every crack, in every corner
The day is soon ending, the night is soon rising

He knew he should give up his search
Feeling defeated he sat on the ground
Soon, from the darkness a figure appeared
"Come with me boy, I know what you seek."

Reluctantly, the little boy went
Trudging behind, watching his step
Alas, in front of him there it was
He looked at the figure, not sure of his fate

"See here boy, I have what you seek"
The figure smiled a devilish grin
"It'll cost you though, so if it's worth the trade, I'll take your life, and they'll be saved"
The little boy stood straight up, he knew what he had to do

"I'll accept your deal, only for them"
The little boy inched closer to the figure
With one swift motion, the figure cast the boy down
Once he was dead, the figure disappeared, never to be seen again
