There once was a girl, who's heart was breaking.

by Eleanor   Jul 5, 2011

There once was a girl, who's heart was breaking.
Her sides, her stomach, her eyes were all aching.
Her hands, her legs and her lips, too shaking.

She smiled all day, but she cried through the night -
'Till eventually dark was replaced by the mornings light.
She put on her make-up, wiped the tears away.
Prepared herself for another 'happy' day.
She waited and waited, for a text to come through.
And waited and waited, for her wish to come true.

12 Hours passing by, time to 'sleep'
more like time to cry.

She checked his page one final time.
Only to see the most painful line.
In a relationship, thats all she saw.
She dragged herself up, to close her bedroom door.
She cradled her self till the tears subsided.
Tricked us all into thinking she never minded.
Her friends asked 'are you okay?'
'I'm fine' she'd say, 'Just sleepy today.'

Nobody knew and nobody saw, how lonely she felt,
how her heart felt red raw.

She heard her phone, she knew it was him!
Her heart wasnt aching, she didn't feel grim!
-For the moment she smiles, but wait for a week.
Once again they will no longer speak.

She secretly knows that she's being mislead,
but her heart still decides more quickly than her head.
Her head spoke reality, but her heart spoke louder.
To no longer be lonely, a sad 'outsider'.
