The Rapture of Teenage Life: The End of Harry Potter

by Freeze Tyler   Jul 14, 2011

Today the bifocals are going on across the world,
For kids who don't even need them.
Today as much anticipation is spent
As money has been spent on producing this feeling.
Gangs come out wearing their favorite colors;
Red, Green, Blue, Yellow,
To represent a different front than neighborhoods.
No, they represent houses.

Today, kids are wearing these colors,
And preparing each other,
From the intense amount of ponder
They each have for Harry Potter.
A staple to many teenage years
Finally being put together for the last time.
Some are beginning to fear
Whats going to happen this time,
While most already know
And just want to see it come into play,
But both people alike just want to see it all come together.

Today,
Nerds, Preps, Gangsters, Geeks,
Cheerleaders, Jocks, and Best Friends meet,
To finalize this once and for all.
They are wearing their colors,
They have their bifocals and wands,
Friends by their side,
And new people alike,
Sharing these ties of anticipation towards the ending.
This Rapture of Teenage life to be presented
Even if you think it's resented,
You will miss it; those years of adolescence.

Today, a death of a saga will occur.
A death to what is life for some,
And just a plot line to many,
But we will have an empty
Slot for a new story line to follow.
So for now we swallow our tears,
Paint up in the mirror
And fear, as our child hood hero performs his last duty.

Wonderful. Was watching Hallows pt 2 this morning and I'm so glad I came across this as it was so relevant, not to mention brilliantly-written. I know how this feeling felt, although not being an absolute fanatic, but I certainly felt the sentiments that were felt that day. I know it isn't over, but quite realistically it will never feel the same. Again, congrats on the write; a perfect piece concerning a perfect topic.
