He Who Burns, Child

by Armada the Gestalt   Jul 21, 2011

Come now, child,
I hope you listen well,
So sit right down I have a tale to tell,
When the sun sits high
Out upon the sky,
That's when the Great Drake passes by -

Burning up high above the clouds,
He goes to sleep when Winter shrouds
but,
When the Sun is creeping high
that's
When the Great Drake flies on by -

He grows as big as mountains, child!
And when the Sun comes up he's /wild/;
He's got teeth as big as trees,
To him a hurricane's a passing breeze.
I can see you're scared,
but don't be alarmed -

Be a good child and you won't be harmed!

That dragon sets the sky alight,
They say his breath ends Winter's blight
Some say he's got a bone to pick
That there's nothing his flames won't lick.

When the Sun sears on your skin,
And it seems a fire beats within,
When the rivers in the mountains flow,
My child that's when I think you'll know,

When the forests all become a blaze,
All things wilt under the Sun's gaze,
When the flowers all retreat in shame -
That's when you have to say his name;

Arimadax!
The Drake is back!

Now come my child,
If you listen well,
The Drake's got him a story to tell...
