Like a Horse in a Race

by Marwa Ghouar   Aug 24, 2011

A way of looking through those black eyes,
Pulling me down, bringing me up to rise,
Still, in anger, standing in the spotlight,
My shuddering feet immobilized in a freezing dark.

Looking bravely, obscure, eyes hurling arrows of an untamed,
Scars and crying wounds convincing a love for it will never be gained,
In a race, in a war, in a game was never played,
I'd lie, I'd deny, I'd never believe, but never forget the way you hate.

Awhile lasted like a century,
In a truth that turned to a wild fancy,
I keep watering my unwanted rose with tears of me,
Though i know, it will grow just to desire a river to live.

Racing to pour your anger,to smash a love that was made to be hated,
But i can't gainsay, my heart is still aching to be for you engraved,
In a space of dreaming you're the one and only dream that i crave,
Dropping me forever in the bitter honey lake,

I'll never be saved.
