We Must Be Mistaken

by Marwa Ghouar   Aug 26, 2011

Closed eyes within an open darkness
A mouth widely opened to a world of violence
Gulping everything down into the earth of lifeless
Dying for hours in a silent night
Too cold to freeze the hearts, too runny to lengthen the distance
Enshrouded inside a frozen quiet.

Now close the doors and lock the windows
Afraid to death from the wind that blows
Blood smell may fresh the air of safe homes
Make a windbreak lie awake
Pains compete to house our souls
built fake promises to break.

Deceiving ourselves believing our lies
Plant fragile hopes in a lost paradise
We fear the rain though we're the choking clouds
Among an extended death
Not pleasant to see, we hide our eyes
Scent of babies breath.

We blame them all, we hate them all, but are we them?
We do the mistake that we did and we will do it again
Paint the walls and stand away awaiting for the end
Lie and believe choke to breathe
Stare at a world falling apart and put aside the hands
Lie and believe you must kill to live.

Take it off, take it over, take it all back
Blind your eyes turn the colors all into black
Leave a touch, leave a torment, leave a constant crack
Built the fears crash their dreams
And load them all into their backpacks
Drown your lies in their rivers of tears
