Thing Called Love

by Brittany C   Aug 29, 2011

What are these feelings
Churning, brewing inside?
Filling me up, building
spilling over at the edges.

Tightening my heart
when you are near.
Your colon numbing
my mind starts stumbling.

So I turned to a friend.
Ask, "What could this mean?"
She says "You silly girl.
It is a thing they called love."

She turns away
with a smile upon her lips
walking away,
leaving me to ponder.

A very gentle and innocent poem. I remember feeling this way once. I encourage you to keep growing as a writer.

p.s. Thank you for reading and commenting on many of my poems, it's greatly appreciated! It's wonderful to have complete strangers from around the world feel a connection with your words. It makes the world seems a little brighter, no? :)
